Darjeeling is a town in West Bengal and lies in the lower Himalayas at a height of 6,710 feet above sea level. The beautiful hilly environment with small cottages and salubrious climatic condition christened the town with the title “the Queen of the Hill stations”. Darjeeling is famous for its tea plantations. It is a popular tourist destination and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Darjeeling is the headquarters of Darjeeling district which has a partially autonomous status within the state of West Bengal. Darjeeling’s temperate climate led to its development as a hill station for British residents seeking to escape the summer heat of the plains. It attracts students from various parts of India and neighboring countries as it has many schools and colleges by Britishers.  It has five climates and they are  spring, summer, autumn, winter, and the monsoons. Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak, 8,598 m  is the most prominent mountain visible. In days if the sky is clear of clouds, Nepal’s Mount Everest (8,848 m) high, can be seen. The various places to visit in Darjeeling is Tiger Hills, Ghoom Monastery, Batsia Loop and war memorial, Barbotey rock Garden, Mirik Lake, Dhirdam Temple, Padmaja Nadiu Himalayan Zoological park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tensing  – Gumbo  Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self  Help Center, Tea Estate, Natural History Museum, Peace Pagoda.

The best months to visit Darjeeling are April, May, June, September, October till mid of November.

Gangtok is the largest town and capital city of Sikkim in India. Nestled within higher peaks of the Himalaya and enjoying a year-round mild temperate climate, and hence attracts tourist from different parts of India. Gangtok rose to prominence as a popular Buddhist pilgrimage site after the construction of the Enchey Monastery in 1840 and hence it became to capital of Sikkim. The most popular meaning of Gangtok  is “hill top”. Today, Gangtok is a center of Tibetan Buddhist culture and learning, as it has several monasteries, religious educational institutions and centers for Tibetology. River Teesta is the lifeline of Gangtok. As Gangtok is situated at an elevation, it has a mild and cool climate throughout the year. Gangtok is known for wild life sanctuaries, monasteries, lakes etc. The places of visit in Gangtok is Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms, Enchey Monastery, Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden, Research Institute of Tibetology, Rumtek Monastery, Chorten Stupa, Flower Show, Tashi View Point, Tshangu Lake, Chogyal’s Palace, Orchid Sanctuary, Nathula Pass and Baba Mandir.

Itinerary for 5 Nights / 6 Days Tour Package

Day 01 : Pick up from Bagdogra Airport to Darjeeling

On arrival at Bagdogra  airport, you will meet our representative and transfer to hotel in Darjeeling. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 02 : Darjeeling

After breakfast, full day sightseeing at Mirik Lake and Pashupatinagar, Nepal. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 03 : Darjeeling

Early Morning Excursion to Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop. After breakfast, depart for Sight Seeing of Darjeeling. Padmaja Nadiu Himalayan Zoological park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tensing — Gumbo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Tea Estate, Natural History Museum, Peace Pagoda. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 04 : Darjeeling – Gangtok

After breakfast at hotel, checkout and proceed to Gangtok. Checkin to hotel and Half day city tour of Gangtok. Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms, Research Institute of Tibetology, Chorten Stupa, Flower Show, Tashi View Point. Overnight stay at Gangtok. 

Day 05 :  Gangtok

After breakfast at hotel, excursion to Tshangu Lake, Nathula Pass and Baba Mandir. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 06 :  Gangtok – Drop at Bagdogra airport for departure

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Bagdogra airport for onward journey.
